G'day all,
This is formal notification there will be an Australian Chapter Conference in Canberra on the 27th and 28th of November 2008. This confererence will be linked with the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators (IABTI) Aussie Chapter. There is also talk of holding a 1 day workshop on Frontline Response/Bomb Incident Management on the day before (26th) if there is sufficient interest.
The costs for the 2 day conference is going to be around AUD$400. I have spoken to a few of you whilst in Sydney last week during Security 2008 conference and I am seeking assistance for talks in November. I personally will be co-chairing this conference along with Aussie Chapter Director of IABTI, so please contact me if you think you have a topic that relates directly too the CT/IED world. There will be representatives from Bomb Squads from our state, federal and military so it is a great opportunity for those of you in the corporate world of security to come and mix it (yes of course being Aussies that includes a BBQ and a few cold beers) with these professionals.
I also encourage those of you from outside Australia (yes America that means you guys might have to actually get a passport) to come down under and taste our hospitality and of course summer temperatures. Steve that includes you buddy.
Anyway please try and assist me making this the best conference possible by attending, it's at a good price and the information and networking is vital.
